“The pilot of a Syrian military aircraft that crashed near the border between Syria and Turkey has been found alive and taken to a hospital, officials say. The Syrian pilot ejected before the crash, in southern Turkey. He has some spinal fractures but is not in a critical condition, reports say.
It is unclear what caused the crash. An Islamist group which is fighting Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad said the plane had been shot down, but the Syrian government has not confirmed it.” (03/05/17)
