“here is now a pox on both parties. Legislators on both the Republican and Democrat side of the aisle have been in Washington, D.C. way too long, a far cry from what our Founding Fathers envisioned. Instead of serving as a farmer or a business owner for a limited time and then going back home, legislators have become professional politicians, some remaining in office long after they have the energy or the mental capacity to serve effectively, totally out of touch with the people they represent. Consider Speaker of the House, Representative Paul Ryan, who has been in Washington, D.C. for his entire life, never having had a job in the private sector.” (07/16/17)
