Congress needs to provide Dreamers with permanent protection

"Last week, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary John Kelly announced to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that the government may decline to defend the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program — which deferred removal of over 750,000 undocumented young adults — against a looming legal challenge threatened by a number of states. Now, more than ever, a legislative solution is the only chance of protection for America’s Dreamers." (07/31/17)

"Congress needs to provide Dreamers with permanent protection"

Bleeding-hearts typically only selectively bleed…DACA ~ 7% of the "undocumented" population.

Maybe… just as soon as everyone – and I mean everyone (if they want to be, of course) – is adequately armed and ready to defend themselves against aggression?

Did I just see congresscritters convulsively clutching their pearls and swooning? Yeah, I thought so.

Their goal is not actually "protection." Their whole purpose for everything is CONTROL.

    • Well, in this context, "protection" means, basically, "telling ICE that they're not allowed to forcibly abduct the people in question."

I don't see any reason why that kind of "protection" would need to wait on any other set of conditions.

I agree…in this instance, i'm certainly not opposed to the protection in question(it is an improvement over the current situation). I'm simply opposed to it being described as "reasonable/sensible immigration control."
