New GOP ObamaCare repeal bill gains momentum

Source: The Hill

"A last-ditch effort by Senate Republicans to repeal and replace ObamaCare is gaining steam, suggesting lawmakers could face another vote on ending the former president’s signature law later this month. Supporters do not appear to have the 51 votes necessary to pass the bill yet, but pressure is growing on Republicans to back the measure, which could replace much of ObamaCare with block grants for states. … A significant factor giving the measure new momentum is a fast-approaching Sept. 30 deadline. At the end of the month, Republicans will not be able to use rules known as 'budget reconciliation' to bypass a Democratic filibuster [sic] in the Senate. If the measure can be filibustered [sic], it has no chances of passing the Senate." (09/18/17)
