Trump calls Comey's treatment of Clinton email probe "obviously a fix," calls for Justice Department to investigate

Source: Business Insider

"President Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning saying the 2016 probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server for her work as Secretary of State was 'obviously a fix.' … In a second post, Trump claimed that many people were not interviewed before Comey's draft. He said the investigation was 'obviously a fix' and called on the Justice Department to investigate. On Monday, the FBI released a heavily redacted version of the letter Comey drafted before interviewing Clinton and other key witnesses in the 2016 probe, confirming earlier reports." (10/18/17)

Bitter loser Hillary Clinton tries again to put over "Assange colluded with Russia" whopper

Source: ABC News [Australia]

"Julian Assange has launched a personal attack on Hillary Clinton, accusing her of lying and displaying a 'cold creepiness' after the former US presidential candidate told the ABC the WikiLeaks founder is a 'tool of Russian intelligence.' In an exclusive interview with Four Corners, Mrs Clinton alleged Mr Assange colluded with a Russian intelligence operation to disrupt the 2016 US election and damage her candidacy for president. 'Assange has become a kind of nihilistic opportunist who does the bidding of a dictator,' she said. 'WikiLeaks is unfortunately now practically a fully owned subsidiary of Russian intelligence.'" [editor's note: She's had it in for Assange and WikiLeaks ever since they exposed her illegal orders to wiretap UN diplomatic offices and other crimes as US Secretary of State, presaging the train wreck her second presidential campaign was going to be – TLK] (10/16/17)

FBI says it uncovered Russian bribery plot before Clinton pushed through nuclear deal

Source: New York Post

"The FBI had evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s energy business in the US before the Obama administration approved a deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, a new report said Tuesday. The feds used a confidential US witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks …. Russian nuclear officials also sent millions of dollars to the US designed to benefit the Clinton Foundation while then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that smoothed the way for the sale of the US uranium interests." FBI releases early draft of Comey's Clinton statement

Source: CNN

"The FBI posted a document Monday that suggests former FBI Director James Comey began drafting what became his infamous July 2016 statement about Hillary Clinton's private server months ahead of time, releasing a heavily redacted copy of the exchange. The bureau posted the document to its 'Vault' Freedom of Information Act reading room, titled 'Drafts of Director Comey's July 5, 2016 Statement Regarding Email Server Investigation Part 01 of 01.' The five-page document included a list of nearly 50 deleted pages and a mostly redacted email chain titled 'Midyear Exam.'" (10/16/17)

O that wacky gerrymandering

Source: Common Sense
by Paul Jacob

"Hillary Clinton: always wrong. Oh, I’m sure that when she tells the maid 'We need milk,' she’s accurate enough. Otherwise — forget it. Her latest howlers pertain to the movement to convene a Convention of States. If two thirds of the states call for the convention, it 'will be' convened, per the U.S. Constitution. If 38 states approve a convention-proposed amendment, it will be added to the Constitution. Different pro-convention groups support different amendments, on everything from a balanced budget to spending limits to term limits. U.S. Term Limits is promoting a Term Limits Convention to propose an amendment for congressional term limits. A great idea. Clinton, though, sees calamity …" (09/29/17)

We are at war — so what else is new?

Source: Common Sense
by Paul Jacob

"Hillary Clinton, who didn’t get a majority of all votes and who lost in the Electoral College, keeps on grinding through her long list of people who failed her. Her nuttiest charge, that 'Russia 'Hacked' the election,' reached its apogee, last week, in the bizarre video featuring Morgan Freeman. The actor, who’s played both the President and God, intones that 'We have been attacked; we are at war.' Financed by a cobbled-together Committee to Investigate Russia, the notion seems to be: stretch Hillary Clinton’s conspiracy theory into the talking points for … a coup d'etat. Congress is, of course, investigating 'what Russia did.' Unearthed, so far? Not much." (09/25/17)

Push to unseal the draft Whitewater indictment against Hillary Clinton gets court date

Source: McClatchy

"A federal appeals court will hear a case brought by Judicial Watch on Friday to make public draft indictments of Hillary Clinton from the Whitewater scandal in the 1990s. Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that files Freedom of Information Act requests, wants copies of the documents that the National Archives and Records Administration has declined to release. … The documents in question are alleged drafts of indictments written by Hickman Ewing, the chief deputy of Kenneth Starr, the independent counsel appointed to investigate Bill and Hillary Clinton’s alleged involvement in fraudulent real estate dealings. Although others were sentenced for their role in the matter, neither Clinton was ever prosecuted." (09/20/17)

Clinton won't rule out questioning 2016 election, but says no clear means to do so

Source: National Public Radio [US state media]

"Hillary Clinton says she would not rule out questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 election if new information surfaces that the Russians interfered even more deeply than currently [asserted on the basis of no credible evidence]. In an interview with Fresh Air's Terry Gross about her new memoir, What Happened, Clinton acknowledges that such a challenge would be unprecedented and that 'I just don't think we have a mechanism' for it." Newly released Clinton emails reveal more State Department pay to play, more mishandling of classified info

Source: New York Post

"Something else happened the week of Hillary Clinton’s book launch: the release of more 'lost' emails that further highlight her corrupt ways. The watchdogs at Judicial Watch shared 1,600 fresh emails released thanks to their Freedom of Information lawsuits — missives that Clinton & Co. failed to turn over from her private servers, but which the feds recovered from other sources. The emails contain new examples of the Clinton Foundation requesting and receiving State Department favors, plus more cases of classified information being sent through unsecure, non-state.gov accounts. This latest dump, notes Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, shows foundation honcho Doug Band working with Clinton aide Huma Abedin to get favors for donors, from visas to Cuba to meetings in Singapore." Hillary happened

Source: CounterPunch
by Jeffrey St. Clair

"So someone has ghost-written another Hillary Clinton memoir. My biggest question when I picked it up was: Did Hillary stiff the writer out of the final payment as she did Barbara Feinman, the real author of It Takes a Village? You don’t have to read any further than the cover of the book to answer the question posed by its title: What Happened: Hillary Clinton. Glutton for punishment, I took a masochistic dive into its dark pages anyway. It soon became apparent that Hillary shouldn’t have treated Feinman so churlishly. What Happened would have greatly benefited from her stylistic enhancements." (09/15/17)
