Hack or leak: Who really stole the DNC files?

Source: The American Conservative
by Philip Giraldi

"The mantra in Washington, both within the media and the inside-the-beltway establishment, is that Russia actively 'interfered' in the election and may have changed the outcome, but that is largely speculative. Since the line between possibly influencing or favoring a certain outcome and interfering has been rather difficult to discern, Russiagate has evolved into a seemingly never-ending inquiry that will likely produce nothing in terms of indictable criminality among the Trumpsters. … Indeed, the process itself seems to be backwards. Unlikely to be revealed is how the whole affair became a national-security issue in the first place. Who exactly stole the files from the DNC server and the emails from John Podesta? It would seem to me that appreciating how the theft of the documents took place is crucial to understanding what has come to be called Russiagate." (08/15/17)

Federal judge orders US State Department to search for more Clinton Benghazi emails

Source: WMUR 9 News

"A federal judge has ordered the State Department to search for any additional Benghazi-related emails then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have sent or received from aides Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills or Jake Sullivan at their state.gov addresses. Judge Amit Mehta, who was nominated by former President Barack Obama, ruled that the State Department should search the state.gov emails as well, noting 'this matter is a far cry from a typical FOIA case. Secretary Clinton used a private email server, located in her home, to transmit and receive work-related communications during her tenure as secretary of state.' The judge has ordered a status report by September 22. The order, signed Tuesday, came after conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch's lawsuit for Benghazi emails." (08/10/17)

Judicial Watch obtains new classified Clinton emails

Source: Fox News

"A nonprofit legal watchdog claimed Thursday that newly unearthed documents show Hillary Clinton sent and received more classified information on her private server than previously known, and that the papers also show top aide Huma Abedin did favors for Clinton Foundation insiders. Judicial Watch released more than 2,000 pages of documents it obtained pursuant to a May 5, 2015 court order, after filing a lawsuit against the State Department for failing to comply with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request." Clinton supporters try to shift blame for Servergate to, you guessed it, !THEM RUSSIANS!

Source: Washington Post

"A secret document that officials say played a key role in then-FBI Director James B. Comey’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation has long been viewed within the FBI as unreliable and possibly a fake, according to people familiar with its contents. In the midst of the 2016 presidential primary season, the FBI received what was described as a Russian intelligence document claiming a tacit understanding between the Clinton campaign and the Justice Department over the inquiry into whether she intentionally revealed classified information through her use of a private email server. … Current and former officials have said that Comey relied on the document in making his July decision to announce on his own, without Justice Department involvement, that the investigation was over. That public announcement — in which he criticized Clinton and made extensive comments about the evidence — set in motion a chain of other FBI moves that Democrats now say helped Trump win the presidential election." Trump regime fires Comey

Source: Washington Post

"FBI Director James B. Comey has been dismissed by the president, according to White House spokesman Sean Spicer — a startling move that officials said stemmed from a conclusion by Justice Department officials that he had mishandled the probe of Hillary Clinton’s emails. 'The president has accepted the recommendation of the Attorney General and the deputy Attorney General regarding the dismissal of the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,' Spicer told reporters in the briefing room. Spicer also said that Comey was 'notified a short time ago.' This is effective 'immediately,' he said. Officials said Comey was fired because senior Justice Department officials concluded he had violated Justice Department principles and procedures by publicly discussing the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of private email." Comey: Classified Clinton emails "somehow" forwarded to Anthony Weiner

Source: CNN

"FBI Director James Comey revealed Wednesday that Hillary Clinton emails containing classified information were 'somehow' being forwarded to former congressman Anthony Weiner by his wife and top Clinton aide, Huma Abedin. Comey provided new details to Congress about how Clinton's emails ended up on Weiner's computer as the FBI director strongly defended his decision to alert Congress just days before the 2016 election about his agency's investigation into emails potentially related to Clinton's personal server." She's back

"Donald Trump argued during the last weeks of the presidential election campaign that Clinton had exposed state secrets to hostile foreign governments. … Clinton denied vehemently that she had caused any state secrets to pass into the hands of hostile foreign governments. Then Trump was elected president of the United States. Then Clinton left the public scene. Then, last Sunday evening, during the NFL playoff game between the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers, the FBI posted on its website more than 300 emails that Clinton had sent to an unnamed colleague not in the government — no doubt her adviser Sid Blumenthal — that had fallen into the hands of foreign powers. It turns out — and the Sunday night release proves this — that Blumenthal was hacked by intelligence agents from at least three foreign governments and that they obtained the emails Clinton had sent to him that contained state secrets. Sources believe that the hostile hackers were the Russians and the Chinese and the friendly hackers were the Israelis." [editor's note: Why consider the Israelis "friendly?" (01/12/17)

US DoJ to investigate itself over Servergate probe

Source: CNN

"The Justice Department's internal watchdog announced Thursday it has launched a probe into the department and the FBI's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server. The announcement, which was expected, comes after criticism of the Justice Department's handling of the investigation, particularly on how the public was notified about the controversy, which was a major issue on the 2016 campaign trail."
